Public Spaces, Rome

Rome is a bustling city with large open piazzas, dynamic streets filled with cafes, and public museums filled with antiquities and curiosities. This is particularly true in the summer months with the onset of tourism.  It can often be hard to find a respite from the large crowds in some of the main sites.  Wandering through the smaller streets or popping into a museum off the main path can offer rich discoveries and cooler air during the midday.  Due to the academic year, I have usually traveled to Rome with students during the summer months.  This gallery is a sample collection of sketches from some of the public spaces: piazzas, cafes, and museums.
